SMF Archive is an archival site for Super Mario Flash games, levels, creations, and community history. You can also use it to upload new Super Mario Flash levels!
You need Ruffle installed or enabled in your browser to play the archived Super Mario Flash games. Ruffle is used because modern browsers no longer support Adobe Flash Player.
Archived records come from sources such as Pouetpu-games and Level Palace. Most of this information was recovered from the Internet Archive using Python scripts, along with recovered files and public archive data.
Older sources were not preserved consistently. Dates, thumbnails, authors, descriptions, comments, or ratings may be missing, duplicated, inferred, or uncertain.
Yes! Users can request level changes for legacy levels or visit our Contact page if they notice incorrect authorship, missing details, broken thumbnails, duplicate entries, or other issues. Source links or screenshots are also helpful.

Follows and notifications help you keep track of user activity, comments, replies, level invites, and updates related to levels or conversations you are part of.
You must be logged into an account in order to upload a level. Use the Add Level button on the home page or the SMF Archive Levels page. You can add the level name, level code, game, visual filters, difficulty, description, thumbnail, and visibility.
Levels can be public or private. Public levels are visible to others, while private levels limit who can view them. You can also delete levels you have uploaded.
Yes, you can edit levels you have uploaded. Archived legacy levels are handled as preserved records, so missing or corrected information may need to be submitted for a contributor or staff review.

Yes! When adding or editing a level, you can include visual filter details for levels made in any supported Super Mario Flash game.
Uploads should only be levels made for supported Super Mario Flash games. Content that breaks the rules may be removed.
If a level is invite only, the author can choose which users may view it. Invited users will receive a notification.
All levels use a 1-10 rating scale. Level Palace legacy ratings may show their original score out of 100, but this does not reflect our site's rating system.
You may not be logged in, the level may not be public, your account may be restricted, the comment thread may be locked, or the feature may not apply to that type of archived record.
You can edit or delete comments and replies you have posted. If you see a problem with a legacy comment, please use the report option when available.
Roles explain what users help with on SMF Archive and what site tools they may have access to.
Members are verified, registered users. They can upload levels, rate and comment on levels, manage their profiles, follow and block users, receive notifications, and request legacy level changes for contributors and staff to review.
Contributors are a non-staff role which helps maintain legacy content. They can manage legacy records, review legacy level change requests, and help manage game information.
Moderators help enforce the rules. They review reports, handle rule violations, moderate comments or levels when needed, and help resolve community issues.
Administrators manage higher-level site tools and staff tools. They can help with announcements, user management, larger moderation decisions, and technical site maintenance.
The Founder, Popthatcorn14, oversees the project as a whole, guides the site's direction, and manages final administrative decisions.
The Elder God, Darius the mailman, is the site's automod. He helps handle automatic moderation actions when site rules are broken.
